After finding the bible verse about sacrifices, in the temple, we clicked on one of the scrolls nearby. The cutscene then started as the scoll was still open. We could no longer see the scroll, but max stayed at that spot reading the scoll, while cutscene max talked in front of him.
Both versions of max stayed there through the whole cutscene.
After the cutscene, scroll max was gone and we were the max from the cutscene.
